TRUMP signs major deal with Aussie company

International business tycoon, Donald Trump has signed a major deal to become the new face of Australian company Holeproof. Trump will front a new campaign for Holeproof Computer Socks appearing on TV screens from October 17, 2004.

A ‘must have’ for the boardroom, Holeproof Computer Socks have long been a business staple. Trump’s association is designed to educate a whole new generation about the famous socks that ‘fall up, not down’.

Holeproof approached Trump in July and pitched their idea for his involvement. With Trump receiving over 100 approaches a week from around the world, Trump said he only works with leading companies and will only endorse great products. The partnership quickly developed as Trump enjoyed the quirky sense of humour that features within the soon to be released TVC.

‘We are thrilled to be working with Donald Trump and are looking forward to developing a strong association with one of the world’s leading business figures. Trump is successful, innovative and always rises to a challenge making him a perfect fit for Holeproof Computer Socks” says, Janette Kendall, Holeproof Divisional Manager, Socks.

The sock market in Australia is significant, with over 110 million pairs sold annually. Holeproof is number 1 in the category with a 35% market share. In addition, Holeproof is committed to driving growth in the category and with an investment of over $1.5 million, this represents Holeproof's largest sock launch to date.

Holeproof Computer Socks are made using a unique design which makes them fall up not down. They feature more Lycra knitted into the lower leg, and less towards the top. They provide superior comfort and durability and only use premium quality yarns.

Holeproof Computer Socks are suitable for business and casual wear and are available in cotton or wool.

The campaign was shot in New York earlier this month on Trump's private jet by an all Australian team. The campaign was developed as a collaboration between Whybin TBWA and Antony Shannon.

Australia can expect to see Trump’ on their TV screens and in store from October 17, 2004.

Holeproof Computer Socks are available at leading department stores including David Jones and Myer and discount department stores nationally, including Target, Best & Less, Big W, Kmart and Lowes.
